Township Tavern (formerly Jen's Bar and Grill)
About This Spot
Stepping into Township Tavern is like finding a familiar corner of town where everyone knows your name, yet new friends are always welcome. Nestled along Hamilton Middletown Road, this spot blends the warmth of a neighborhood hangout with the relaxed, easygoing vibe of a classic bar and grill. The space itself invites both quiet weekday lunches and lively evenings, with an atmosphere that hums softly—drawing from memories of cozy gatherings and the simple comfort of good company.
Inside, there’s a tangible sense of heart and care that goes beyond the decor. The staff moves with a friendly attentiveness that makes you feel like part of an unspoken conversation; it’s the kind of place where the pace slows just enough to savor conversations and meals alike. Whether you find yourself seated indoors with the quiet buzz of conversation or lingering on the patio enjoying the Ohio air, Township Tavern carries an easy balance between casual and considered.
The kitchen mirrors this thoughtful atmosphere with dishes that feel crafted from tradition and pride rather than trend. Homemade soups, hearty sandwiches, and satisfying comfort foods—each plate arrives like a welcome invitation to sit back and savor. From the satisfying richness of their meatloaf special to the familiar joy of a perfectly dressed Italian hoagie, the flavors here lean into honest, home-style goodness. Even the small touches, like coleslaw that carries a little extra sparkle or a side of crinkle fries that can steal the show, speak to a menu mindful of quiet pleasures.
For those who enjoy a drink with their meal, Township Tavern offers a selection that complements without pretense. Whether it’s a crisp cider or a familiar favorite like Corona, the bar’s welcoming nature invites you to unwind. And on many nights, the hum of live music underlines the communal spirit building in the room—a reminder that this isn’t just a place to eat or drink, but a gathering space where moments unfold and stories are shared.
Township Tavern feels less like a destination and more like a rediscovered friend—a place with a gentle, unvarnished charm that invites you to slow down and enjoy the rewarding intimacy of good food, friendly faces, and the easy rhythm of daily life.

I had a great time visiting and eating lunch and dinner. So I came back the next few days and things were still great. I'll be back and bring my friends too.

Township is a bit like "Cheers" and a bit biker bar nice space indoors and out.. clean...gets a bit stuffy, the fans they deploy help. Staff is very friendly.. the food..really good.. home made soups,chilli.. the coleslaw is the bomb. Very thoughtful home cooking.. its safe to say this is a woman owned business whom has her heart in it.

As usual we googled a place to eat that wasn't a chain after a sporting event. We learned that the soups are made homemade and those that are into ranch dipping sauce that is as well. We did try the ranch and it's ok. The "best burger in town" was freaking amazing. We added bacon but wasn't needed. My boy liked the boneless wings and cheese curds are on point considering. Beer drinkers, no taps, it's all can or bottles. There a a couple of pool tables and plenty of TV's. Next game in that area we'll be sure to stop by again.

I was at Township Tavern last Wednesday night, July 9. First time I’ve been here. Michelle behind the bar was welcoming and quick with the drinks and taking our orders. The food service team was excellent and the food was just fantastic. Highly recommend the Italian sub and the breakfast burger. Will definitely be back.

Amazing food, great drinks, and always friendly service and patrons! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here! My new favorite meal is Yolanda's famous tuna salad!!!

Their Italian hogie and steak mushroom are a good dish! Can't go wrong with a burger also! Excellent drink prices during happy hour! Great service!

Its a dive, but their burgers are some of the best...if not the best in the area! The breakfast burger is awesome! Not family friendly, and sometimes they smoke inside. If that bothers you grab a burger to go and you'll be impressed!
